Happy Birthday today to teacher Ms. Lloyd! and students Serena Detar, Ramandip Kaur, and Alex Boyd. If you see them in the hallway, be sure to wish them a happy birthday!

Today for lunch is Egg/Cheese Omelet w/ Gravy & Biscuit, Hashbrown Stars, Baked Beans, Mixed Fruit, Peanut Butter Cookie, and a variety of milk

Math league is TODAY after school!!!  This is the last one of the year!!!  Don’t miss it.

It’s March Madness time!  How well do you know your NCAA teams?

Pay $1 and pick up your Bracket from Mrs. Foster in B216.  Fill out your bracket and turn it in by 8:00 am Thursday morning.

Prizes given after each round.

All proceeds go to Renaissance.

John Ruskin said, “A little thought and a little kindness are often worth more than a great deal of money.”  Today’s Random Act of Kindness Award goes toSamantha Alspaugh.  When a classmate dropped her AP Biology notes on the floor, Samantha showed kindness by helping pick them up.  Thank you,SamanthaYou make our school a better place.  We appreciate you. 

  • WEW has some info we would like to share relating to our donation drive. Starting this week, March 13-17, the donation drive for the pregnancy care center and Wayside Shelter begins! The FRESHMEN will have a penny war between all of the freshmen study halls, so be sure to bring silver coins to use aganist other study halls! The study hall with the most money by the end of the week will receive Jack’s donuts provided by WEW. The SOPHOMORES JUNIORS AND SENIORS can participate by bringing in items like diapers, feminine hygiene products, baby wipes, or baby formula! Any questions on what you will win? Ask your female teachers if they are participating today!
  • There will be a meeting of the Creative Writers Club after school on Thursday. The meeting will be in room B219, Mr. Pratt’s room, and will last until 4:30 P.M. The photo for the yearbook will be taken at this meeting, so please be sure to attend.
  • The music department is having their Winter Showcase on Thursday, March 16, 2017 in the middle school gym. The Elementary Winter Guard, Middle School Junior Varsity Winter Guard, and High School Varsity Winter Guard will all be performing. After the winter guard groups perform, RHB and Indoor percussion will perform at Bundy. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for students.
  • If you are interested in taking Driver’s Ed in July you should see Mr. Peckinpaugh for an information sheet before March 21.  You must be 15 or turning 15 in the next month and a half
  • Come join Henry County Wordsmiths. Whether you write poetry, short stories, or you’ve started the next best selling novel, we invite you to join us on the first and third Thursdays of each month at the New Castle Henry County Library from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM. All genres and all writing levels are welcome. Next meeting is March 16th.
  • The speech team finished 22nd in the state tournament on Saturday. Xania Thurston advanced to finals and finished 6th in the state in humorous interpretation. Hayley Poe advanced to semi-finals and finished 10th in the state in original performance. The following were quarterfinalists, finishing in the top 24 in the state–Priscilla Espiritu and Gwen Mathis in duo, Mathis in prose, Ashley House in original peformance, and Katie Scott in international extemp. Shelby Mills finished 25th in informative. The duo team of Seth Carter and Sam Goble finished 27th as did Oliver Tompkins in original performance.  Also competing at the state tournament were Jennifer Baker in discussion, Kamryn Owens in dramatic interpretation, Mills in impromptu, and Espiritu in prose.  Congrats on a great state tournament and great season!


  • It is not too late for any girls interested in playing softball. Please stop by and talk with Coach Baker in Room M111 as soon as possible.
  • Attention any GIRL or BOY interested in trying out for the 2017-2018 JV or VARSITY CHEER TEAM: Please pick up a tryout packet from Mrs. Davis in room M107 or the Athletic Office.  We will be holding tryouts for cheerleaders and stunt team during the week before Spring Break.  Varsity Cheerleaders and Stunt Team members receive a varsity letter for Football and Basketball.  What a great way to earn those chevrons! It’s going to be a GREAT year for NC Cheer!


It is that time of year again!  It is time to vote for Senior Superlatives.  Most Likely to Graduate?  Most Likely to Become President? Most Likely to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse?  Do you know a senior girl and boy for each category?  Voting will take place on until the week after Spring Break.  Don’t miss your chance! Voting end April

Senior Superlatives:  Recognition:

  • Monroe Township Conservation Club will award a scholarship to help a student with related college cost.  You do not have to be affiliated with Monroe Township Conservation Club to apply.   Due:  March 31st
  • Seniors, the scholarship applications for medical scholarships at our local hospital are in the Counseling Center.  The hospital applications are due April 1st
  • Wayne Trust Bank will award HELP in the form of non-interest bearing loans, repayable commencing 12 months after college graduation -application due:  April 15. The loans were $4,000.00 last year.
