Teacher Zachary Lee is a new member at the NCHS this year. Lee went to Boyce College in Louisville, KY and has a bachelor’s degree in humanities  (English, philosophy, and history).

“Philosophy impacts everything that we do and everything that we think, I’ve always been interested in the deeper questions and the deeper meaning of things,” says Lee.

Lee was a Trojan growing up. Lee lived here most of his life and even graduated here at NCHS.

“Other than the time I went to college, I’ve lived here my entire life.”  Lee said, ”When I got the opportunity to teach in my hometown and to teach in the community where I’ve coached and volunteered in, I could not have passed up the opportunity.”

Lee’s mom growing up was a teacher, and his dad was a coach. Lee (like his father) is also a coach. Lee has coached basketball.

“Growing up with my mom being a teacher and my dad being a coach,” Lee said inspired him to be a teacher. “For me the reason that I wanted to go into teaching was because of the impact you can have and the positive impact that my parents had. I want to be able to say ‘Hey I can influence students positively too.’ I want to be a positive influence and offset the negative influences out there.”

What are some of your hobbies?

“I like coaching sports and being around sports. I do also like to be out in nature like on the lake. Other than that i like to go on walks with my wife.”

What are some of your favorite books?

“My favorite books would be the Lord of the Rings. I’m also a Harry Potter fan.”

Did you play any sports growing up?

“Yes, I played 3 years of Basketball at high school level. I played tennis and played 1 year of JV football.”
