Welcome to Teacher Diana Bowman, Bowman is a science teacher attending NCHS. Bowman has lived most of her life in Henry County; this is her first year teaching in New Castle. Before she started teaching in New Castle she worked at Hagerstown High school in the Science Department.

“I have always wanted to teach even as a little girl and I honestly think I was born to do just that,” Bowman said, “I really love hanging out with high school kids and helping them learn all they can before they head out into the big world of adulting.”

Bowman has been teaching for 20 years as a high school science teacher before that she taught kindergarten for two years at Agape Christian school.  Bowman is licensed to teach all the sciences, but at NCHS she is teaching Chemistry I and Integrated Chemistry Physics. ” At New Castle I am teaching Chemistry I and Integrated Chemistry Physics. I teach chemistry because it is one of my very favorite science courses to teach,” Bowman said.

Bowman attended Purdue for one year then transferred to Ball State where she received her bachelors degree of science education. After that she received her first masters of education degree from Indiana Wesleyan University, Bowman says she is currently working on a second master’s degree at Illinois State University majoring in chemistry.

Q: What is your favorite color?

A:   “Purple is my very favorite color….it is the color of royalty and it is the color I am always naturally attracted to when it comes to anything.  I like all shades except the bright “barney” type purple”

Q: What is your favorite animal?

A: “ Tigers and sea turtles”

Q: Where were you born?

A: South Carolina.
