Avengers: Age of Ultron opens this Friday in theaters across the United States. Age of Ultron will feature many returning characters, such as Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth, Captain America, played by Chris Evans, Black Widow, played by Scarlett Johansson, Bruce Banner, played by Mark Ruffalo, and Hawkeye, played by Jeremy Renner. The new movie will also feature a wide cast of new characters as well, such as Ultron, the main villain that is voiced by James Spader, or the Scarlet Witch and QuickSilver, played by Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson respectively. This article is made to explain the new characters and the roles the main characters play.

To begin, let’s start with the new villain, Ultron. Ultron first appeared in 1968 in Avengers #54. Ultron was a Robot who gained sentience and rebelled against its’ creator, Hank Pym, who may be better known by his super hero identity, Ant Man. However, this was changed to Bruce Banner and Tony Stark after the creators of Ultron. The robot constantly battles the Avengers as one of their main villains.

The Vision is a android created by Ultron. It was created to be a “Syndroid,” an android that has human emotions and feelings. The Vision was made to fight the Avengers, however, he ends up joining them. The Vision has actually been involved with Scarlet Witch in the comics.

Scarlet Witch, whose real name is Wanda Maximoff, is a powerful mutant with the ability to warp reality. She first appeared with her brother, Quicksilver, in X-men #4. Both Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are the children of Magneto, one of the X-men’s most notable villains.

Quicksilver, also known as Pietro Maximoff, is Scarlet Witch’s brother. He is the biological child of Magneto. Quicksilver is mostly known for his insane speed. Quicksilver was already in X-men: Days of Future Past, however, this is a different actor and character than the one in Age of Ultron.

In my opinion, “Age of Ultron” May be the best Marvel movie we will ever see. It blends a lot of elements together, and also makes for an amazing start for what will be the “Infinity Gauntlet” Storyline.
