All students has seen or has had contact with drugs. Some could be using drugs legally, whereas others are using drugs illegally. Any age range of students could be using drugs in school. High school students has been the highest percentage of students who use drugs. High school students should be drug tested.

Being drug tested in high school is an absolute must thing. First of all, drugs usually begin when people are in their teen years and are almost adults. High school students that are in extracurricular activities have to be drug tested and that has prevented some drug use in high school. An article called health street states that, “The National Center for Education Evaluation reports that students involved in extracurricular activities in schools that conducted drug testing had less substance use than comparable students from schools without drug testing.” Second of all, high school students follow what other and older students do. High school students think that they are cool and fit in if they do drugs like other people and students. The Buzz, an article about drug testing, states that, “Students have a built-in reason to resist peer pressure, a well-known reason why kids experiment with drugs.” Finally, high school students aren’t familiar with what drugs can to their bodies and their abilities. Students in high school can get help if they are using drugs. An article confirms this by stating, “A random drug testing policy can also can aid those kids facing peer pressure to use, or who are on the fence, because it provides them with an easy excuse to say no to drugs.” In the end, drug testing could help students in high who are using drugs and could also reduce the use of drugs.

In conclusion, students in high school should be drug tested. This could become a big argument between some parents and some schools. The supreme court made it legal to drug test students who are in extracurricular activities in 2002. They hope to prevent students who are using and abusing drugs that are students high school. As drug free students and citizens, we should vote on drug testing high school students. We can make schools better and make the world better, not just for the students but also for everyone who is using or abusing drugs.
