After a nice weekend, my Snapchat stories and Instagram feed was filled with people walking around places blindfolded. I have no idea why so I decided to look it up and find out why…

So apparently there is this new movie out called Bird Box and these creatures will get into your head and make you want to do horrible things, so if people want to survive then they have to blindfold themselves so that they can’t see the creatures. So long story short, they have to travel across a river to this safe house where they can live without being blindfolded, but to get there they had to travel blindfolded to survive.

After watching this movie I got really intrigued by the idea of people challenging themselves at home, but I wanted to take it to the next level.  I went to the beginning of this, social media, and made a post about how we should all go a day at school blindfolded along with the teachers and staff. Sometime about a week later I had convinced the school to have a free day so that we could do this “challenge”. This is what happened.

We had someone standing at every entrance giving out blindfolds to the people who didn’t already have one. As soon as the bell rang, it was time to put the blindfolds on. The rest of the day was actually quite interesting. First period was the hardest, and I feel like just about everyone was turned around or late. Luckily there wasn’t a lot going on first period for me. The passing periods got kind of rough. Lots of falling over and bumping into each other. I even heard that one girl fell down the steps.

Its seemed like every hour was quite unique because no one was in the correct classes or even on the right floor. Everyone then came to the conclusion that it was easier to group together and connect to get to each class. Everyone then also figured out what floor they were on based on if they could go up again or down again. Not only did they figure out the stairs but they figured out that they could find their classes by counting their steps everywhere they went. Not to mention the teachers started helping the students out by telling them where to go.

So long story short it was a pretty long day filled with exciting events and some pretty interesting stories. How would a school day bird boxed go for you?
